John Trowse Memorial Award: The Syracuse Festival of Races presents this
award annually to the top Central New York finisher in the Men's 5K at the Festival. The $250 cash award is named in honor of John Trowse, who died unexpectedly, at age 38, of a previously undiagnosed heart ailment.
John was an outstanding and popular runner at Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Cayuga Community College, SUNY Brockport, and as a post-collegian with the Auburn Pulsars and the Syracuse Chargers Track Club. Many thanks to Allied Sign Company for its sponsorship of the John Trowse Memorial Award! Course Record
